2023 recipient Kiran Bhattarai
Kiran is recognized for her work with OPIRG over many years to educate Guelph residents and engage them in planting and building ecosystems in which our urban forest trees can thrive. She collaborated with many community groups and their volunteers to plant trees, shrubs and other native plants and inspired them to take responsibility for maintaining and adding to the plantings. Kiran demonstrated what can be achieved by community groups when they have the support and leadership of such a dedicated steward of the land.
